December 20, 2010   Ending Well/Christmas almost here  

Ending the year well is very important, as a matter of fact ending well period is very important.  The apostle Paul reminds us to end well.  I led a men's group for 7 years and our format for the group time was to share the book we were all reading in the first hour, and then the second hour we talked about relationships with others and with God. After completing the book, I asked each one in the group to pretend they are looking in the rear view mirror leaving the group.  My question to them was, is there something they wish could be different about the group or themselves that they could share?  Similarly, while they were driving away looking at the rear view mirror, was there something they wish they would have shared in the group that would benefit the group or someone particularly?   That exercise proved helpful because it blessed others unexpectedly and help grow the group for the next gathering.  As I look back in the rear view mirror, my hearts blessed to meet the diversity of people and many denominations that are passionate about bringing a taste of God's goodness to others.  I also thank the prayer support of many people, including Alpha Advisors, pastors, teachers, business leaders, and friends.  I wish I could multiply myself and give them all hugs and special prayers for their hearts.  I wouldn't be able to do it without those prayers.  In this Christmas season, gratitude is important in the big or small ways.  It's ultimately about being grateful to God to have his Son fulfill his will to save me and you from the bondage from sin and ourselves so that we can share in the communion and relationship with God and others.
