Topics include:
Day 1
The Call to Mobilize The Great Commission - God is calling us to make disciples – to be ready and active. Yet, many churches across America are realizing they are not as effective reaching others with the Gospel as they once were or as they’d like to be. Has the Gospel lost its power? Or are there other changes going on in our society and culture? Mobilizing involves using new strategies and methods to present the unchanging message of the Gospel to this generation. The Mobilized Church: Aligning with God's Vision and Mission Our culture is changing. Masses of people, especially younger people, think differently than people did 10-20 years ago. Not just in what they believe, but how think. Mobilizing churches will make three crucial shifts in thinking and ways of doing things in order to be effective in reaching this culture with the Gospel.
Mobilizing: What does a mobilized church look like? What does a mobilized church look like? What would you have to do to mobilize your church? What are the accelerators to mobilization? What are some of the barriers to mobilization? This session will allow delegates to address the issues in a small group discussion format and feedback responses to the larger group.
The Church has Left the Building: Mobilized Churches of Today This session will introduce examples of churches mobilizing for the Great Commission. Mobilizing to Reach the Cities – New Covenant Church, Philadelphia, PA Mobilizing to Develop Leaders – Worship Center, Lancaster, PA Mobilizing with Evangelism and Discipleship – Immanuel Church, Gurnee, IL Mobilizing to Reach the World at our Doorstep – Westminster Chapel, Bellevue, WA The Power to Mobilize: The Holy Spirit as the Source While we do our part, the Holy Spirit has the major role. Mobilizing for the Great Commission, like evangelism itself, is dynamic and effective in the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said he would be with us to the very end of the age. Mobilization for the Great Commission requires the presence and filling of the Holy Spirit.
Day 2 Is Mobilizing Worth the Risk? - Dealing with Change Mobilizing your church for the Great Commission will probably involve change. Change can be risky. Change can be unsettling. Change can be stressful. But what if that change is in the will of God? Mere change for change’s sake can be foolish, but changes that help you fulfill God’s dream are not only a good idea, they are necessary – and worth it.
