Alpha Tips: Parenting Courses Overview
There are so many families in our church and wider community who are stressed and struggling. I heard there are new courses available for parents. Can you tell me more? Could we offer this course after Alpha?
Yes to both. You are right. Family ministry is a hot topic in the church today. Churches are perfectly poised to reach out and minister to marriages and families - both within their church walls as well as the broader community. Consider these troubling statistics:
- Divorce rates for Christians show statistically identical results to the overall population. Barna Research

- The US has the lowest percentage among Western nations of children who grow up with both biological parents, 63%. US News Report
Many churches that have begun to offer the Parenting Courses comment that they see some parents come to the course either after or before going on an Alpha course.
