With the rapid growth of the Alpha for ESOL course, guests and people inquiring about the course have had some common questions. This page provides answers to some of those issues.


What does ESOL mean?                                 

ESOL means English Speakers of Other Languages. Alpha for ESOL is designed for people around the world who do not speak English as a first language. The guests will have the opportunity to take the Alpha course in simple English.

Will the course teach me English?

The course is not a classroom or an English course. Guests will hear speakers in English and discuss in English. Guests will have a chance to practice conversational English and listening, but there is no English teaching.

What is the cost for the course?

There is no cost for the course. It is put on by people and churches as a service to the community. If guests would like to provide a donation to support the cost of materials, it is appreciated.
