Gerard Long
Executive Director, Alpha USA
Following a dramatic encounter with God in 1980, Gerard has lived with one burning ambition – to please the Lord Jesus and to obey His will. He had been planning to build on his success as a runner and businessman but, after his encounter with God, he felt a calling to serve in a church in North London. Nicky Gumbel
Vicar, Holy Trinity Brompton
Nicky Gumbel is vicar of Holy Trinity Brompton, a Church of England church in central London . He studied law at Trinity College , Cambridge , from 1973-1975 (M.A. Cantab) and practiced as a barrister from 1977-1983. In 1983, he went to Wycliffe Hall, Oxford , to study theology (M.A. Oxon)and to train for ordination in the Church of England. He was awarded an honorary doctorate (Hon D.
