The Alpha Invitation is a promotional campaign to reach residents in the Eastern NC region with the gospel of Jesus Christ, using the Alpha courses that are run by the local churches and organizations. It's a way for local churches to mobilize local Christians to invite people to hear the Gospel. It starts with your church working together with other churches across the region to pray, prepare, plan and promote the Alpha Course. As each church works together with other churches in a spirit of unity, a greater impact can be made in the community to extend the Kingdom.
In areas that have run invitations, faith has been stirred in the local churches involved. The Alpha Invitation has served as a catalyst to mobilize the saints. The fact that your congregation is willing to work with other congregations to help transform your community has a powerful impact on Christians in the area (not to mention the non-Christians who see Christians working together in unity!)
Pastor - Your part in this process takes minimal organization, basically:
- Vision casting to your congregation and a commitment to being involved
- Attending/Hosting a local training event for the Alpha course
- Encouraging your congregation to pray
- Ordering promotional materials
- Running the Alpha course
The cost for each church or organization is minimal. Typical costs will include:
- What it normally costs to run your Alpha course
- Any additional local publicity or promotion in your community, including, for example: personal invitations, large Bear Grylls banner, car magnets, yard signs and posters.
