Our team is here to walk alongside churches and leaders in discovering how to engage people far from God through hospitality, listening, and dependence on the Spirit.
We work with a growing network of churches and ministries throughout South Texas to train and equip teams to run Alpha. As a result, more people are encountering Christ, and churches are being transformed as their people are activated to share Jesus through Alpha.
We desire to see the Kingdom of God made known amidst our post-Christian society. Alpha was birthed into a similar cultural landscape in London where people were hungry for a safe space that allowed them to ask questions, express doubts, and explore faith. Having a safe space to talk about life’s biggest questions is increasingly more and more relevant to our community, and as a result, we are seeing more churches running Alpha.
Alpha has a proven track record of working in a variety of contexts and is readily adaptable to almost any setting. We are here to help you utilize Alpha to introduce your community to Jesus.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”— Matthew 28:19-20

South Texas Director
Mark Warpmaeker is the South Texas Network Director for Alpha USA. He lives in Spring, TX, with his wife, Beth, and their two sons, Nathan and Jacob. Mark was a pastor in Texas and Minnesota and is passionate about seeing the local church thrive.
Mark first experienced Alpha as a pastor and credits his small group for moving his faith, preaching, and teaching from his head to his heart. “The non-Christians in my small group made me answer from my heart rather than quoting scripture or some theologian.”
After Gregg served over 20 years in various government roles in Washington D.C., God transformed him amidst the greatest crisis of his life. Gregg accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior while in Federal prison, and that experience and transformation led him into a life of service and ministry. He sees his life as a fulfillment of God’s promise to “work all things for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose” (Rom 8:28). Gregg supports churches and volunteers running Alpha in prisons and the South Texas Roman Catholic community as it implements Alpha as a part of the New Evangelization.
Assistant Network Director
LaDavid is a former participant and facilitator of Alpha in the Texas prisons. He served 19 years of the 25 years he was sentenced to serve before being released on Parole. LaDavid’s encounter with Alpha in 2016 brought him into a living relationship with God and deepened his relationship with Jesus. As Alpha Ambassador he faithfully engages with diverse urban communities, helping churches bridge the gap between Christians and people who need to experience the Love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Alpha is funded by the generosity of donors who make it possible for us to provide Alpha resources completely free to churches and guests.
