February 8-9 | Hillsong Phoenix

Culture is shifting.

  • Only 2 in 10 Americans under 30 believe attending church is important or worthwhile (an all-time low).
  • 59 percent of millennials raised in a church have dropped out.
  • 35 percent of millennials have an anti-church stance, believing the church does more harm than good. [Barna]

This is more than a problem; this is an opportunity. What if the church finds a way forward? What if this shift represents the soil for spiritual renewal? What if the kingdom of God can break into our new post-Christian reality on earth as it is in heaven?

At The Alpha Conference 2018 we will explore this question: how can we cultivate a kingdom culture within the local church? A culture of unexpected hospitality and grace that breaks down barriers to the gospel. A culture of deepening dependence on prayer and expectancy on God’s Spirit. A culture that builds unity across historical church divides.

Don’t miss this unique conversation and experience to join with churches, leaders, and volunteers across all denominations.

  • You will hear real, hope filled stories from proven pioneers on the front lines of the Church.
  • You will discover key learnings and best practices from church communities effectively sharing Jesus in contexts increasingly hostile to the gospel.
  • You will have a chance to receive more from God for yourself and your team through moments of all-out worship and expectant prayer.

FAQs

What is Alpha?

Alpha is space where people outside the church can explore life and the Christian faith in a friendly, open, honest and informal environment.

It runs in churches, bars, coffee shops, prisons, schools and homes. Typically, Alpha has around ten sessions and includes food, a short talk and a discussion at the end where guests can share their thoughts.

Millions of people have tried Alpha in over 100 countries. Alpha runs in every part of the global church, including the Catholic Church, the Orthodox Church and all mainline Protestant denominations.

Who is The Alpha Conference for?

The Alpha Conference is for anyone passionate about transformation. You could be a church leader, on a staff team, a volunteer, someone who loves alpha, and anyone in between. If you are longing to experience spiritual renewal in the local church, hungry to see God work in a post Christian world, and looking to create space for listening and hospitality as a way of reaching your community - then this is for you

Do I need to be running Alpha for this conference to be valuable to me?

No. This is a unique conversation for anyone passionate about seeing transformation. We will showcase the ways leaders and communities are embracing a new dependence on prayer and the work of the Spirit. You will hear stories of churches who are reclaiming the power of listening and rediscovering the art of hospitality. And together, we will celebrate the unprecedented movement towards a growing unity in the Church across every dividing line.

Will this conference just explain and promote Alpha?

Though we love Alpha and are obviously biased towards it, we even think a conference like that would be a little boring.

No, this is a conversation around what we are facing as the church today in America. At Alpha, we work with so many churches from so many different denominations and contexts and we have noticed a rising hunger across them all.

Our greatest desire for this gathering is for your lives and communities to be touched and renewed by the power of the Spirit. We trust that through intimate moments of worship and waiting, we will receive “more” from God in transforming ways.
