ALPHA TEAM TRAINING: ESSENTIALS, SMALL GROUPS, & PRAYER MINISTRY - SATURDAY, JANUARY 4TH, 9AM-3:30PM, JPII Rooms A & B, Registration begins at 8:30 AM.

This training is for anyone who would like to serve on an Alpha Course at OLGC and who has not been trained within the last year. If you attended the Fall 2019 training, you do not need to attend this training.

Join us for a day of faith, fun, and fellowship and learn how to Run Alpha.

Training your team is crucial. The people who host and help need to be the best people to both welcome new people into the community and guide discussions in a way that allows for real exploration.

The session leader, or emcee, leads Alpha each week, welcoming guests with a short introduction, guiding people through each part of the session, and encouraging guests along the way. This key role sets the tone for every session and requires someone who is at ease speaking in front of groups, making people feel comfortable.

Table hosts facilitate small group discussion. Their role is similar to a host welcoming guests to their home. We want people to feel welcomed and included. The format is not teacher/student, but rather host/guest.

Table helpers assist the host by offering hospitality to the guests. Helpers are good listeners and serve quietly. Being a helper on Alpha is actually one of the best ways for people to step into a leadership role for the first time. Table helpers should, if necessary, be able to step into the host role should the table host be unable to attend for some reason.

*NOTE: Hosts and helpers should plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to the session they serve on to attend the pre-session meetings led by their Alpha session leader. Attendance at these meetings is essential to serving on the course.

ASKING QUESTIONS IS A GREAT PLACE TO START

Cultivating Kingdom Culture compels us to arrange our conversations, thoughts, plans, and prayers around what God is doing now and ask, "How are we impacting the mission of Jesus?"

You’re invited into the conversation with leaders from across denominations to discover together, as the Church, ways to sustain the present move of God in today's culture. With a focus on prayer, evangelization, renewal in the Spirit, and unity in the body of Christ, the conference is a time we collectively ask the Holy Spirit to come and transform our lives, churches, communities, and nation.

We believe God is igniting a movement of His power and presence and we get to be a part of it.

We hope you’ll join us!
