Alpha Film Series


Repackaged for today’s audience, the Alpha Film Series is emotive, engaging and epic in scale and scope. Nicky Gumbel and two new presenters, Toby Flint and Gemma Hunt, walk through the basics of the Christian faith in a way that everyone can relate to. The episodes feature inspiring stories and interviews from all around the world, as well as visual illustrations and motion graphics.


We’re pleased to introduce two new presenters, Toby Flint and Gemma Hunt. Toby is a curate at Holy Trinity Brompton church in London and Gemma is a BAFTA award-winning TV presenter. Together with Nicky Gumbel, the pioneer of Alpha, they take the audience on an epic journey exploring the Christian faith.




Watch out for the inspiring stories and interviews of people from across all denominations, all across the world, featured in the Alpha Film Series. These include:

  • Jackie Pullinger, one of the world’s best-known missionaries, based in Hong Kong.
  • Cardinal Schönborn, well known in the Catholic Church globally for editing the Catechism of the Catholic Church, based in Austria.
  • Father Raniero Cantalamessa, preacher to the papal household, based in Italy.
  • Jose Henriquez Gonzalez, one of the thirty-three miners trapped for sixty-nine days at the San Jose mine, based in Chile.
  • Ugo Monye, former English international rugby union player, based in the United Kingdom.
  • Julia Immonen, Sky Sports News presenter and double Guinness World Record Atlantic Ocean rower, based in the United Kingdom.
  • Alister McGrath, professor of science and religion at the University of Oxford, based in the United Kingdom.
  • Propaganda, Christian hip hop and spoken word artist and poet from Los Angeles, based in the USA.
  • Scott Harrison, founder of Charity: Water, based in the USA.

The Alpha Film Series covers all the traditional content that the current Alpha materials do. There are 15 episodes (30 minutes each), an introduction to the Alpha Weekend/Day (10 minutes) and new training videos.
