Evergreen’s Story

It was a challenging season for the youth ministry at Evergreen Church. It seemed much of what they tried was not reaching teens outside the church. Pastor Elijah Mayanja felt stuck.

But when students from the ministry attended a church-wide Alpha, the tides began to turn. Those students captured a vision to reach their friends. Alpha not only provided a way for Evergreen to help students develop a personal relationship with Jesus, but to also make their faith exciting. And they couldn’t get enough.

The students’ faith and enthusiasm were contagious. They proposed running The Alpha Youth Series to Pastor Elijah and after just two sessions, Evergreen saw 150 new students attending from the community.

Watch the video (above) to see how just a few students, a committed youth pastor, and The Alpha Youth Series has begun to transform an entire community. See how God is changing lives, churches, and communities in the 2018 Annual Report
